The coastline of the Palafrugell is made up of endless rocks, cliffs, coves and beaches.  Tamariu, Llafranc, Calella, El Canadell and El Golfet are the main beaches and are renowned for their beauty.  Palafrugell is a town with very traditional commerce and well-known for its markets.  There is a daily market for fruit and vegetables, meat and fish which is open every day from Tuesday to Saturday; the weekly market every Sunday and the evening market which is a craft market that takes place in the summer.

Palafrugell has a wide range of cultural events, activities and places of interest.  There is the Cork Museum, the Interpretation Centre Nouveau Luggage Can Mario, Can Mario Contemporary Art Space (Fundació Vilà-Casas), the Ernest Morató Foundation, Palafrugell Municipal Theatre, Cap Roig Botanical Garden and Cap Roig Gardens Festival, the concerts by the "Joventuts Musicals" of Palafrugell, the Habanera Recital in Calella, the Costa Brava Jazz Festival and the Off Festival, Christmas in Palafrugell and the Ice Rink, the Spring Festival, etc.

The gastronomy of Palafrugell is very rich and varied. Traditional dishes as well as the most avant-garde creations can be found on restaurant menus and all are prepared using first-class ingredients.

Why not take a gastronomic route through Palafrugell, tasting some of the more traditional recipes in restaurants in the
town or buying the ingredients in the market and preparing them yourselves?
